Soul Void - Through Arterial Mist (PRE-ORDER) out may 29.

$49.95

Auckland-based Soul Void have announced their debut full-length album Through Arterial Mist, available Friday, May 29th.

Building on the foundation of their previous release Horrifying New Form, the band’s debut album marks a clear evolution in both scope and intent. Where earlier material introduced their sonic identity, Through Arterial Mist refines it into something more refined and precise, retaining the immediacy of their roots while pushing toward a more violent and oppressive sound.

At its core, the album examines the mechanisms of war, body horror, and the detached voyeurism of modern life, drawing unsettling parallels between physical violence and its passive consumption. These themes are reflected in a sound that balances chaos and control, incorporating the urgency and abrasion of thrash and hardcore influences without compromising the weight and atmosphere of death metal.

Tracked and produced by Matt Livingstone (Judgement Day Productions) and mastered by Lewis Noke-Edwards, the record was intentionally captured with the band’s live intensity at the forefront. The result is Soul Void at their most immediate, but also their most refined - striking a careful balance between raw force and their clearest, most polished production to date.

Through Arterial Mist also features a number of notable collaborations. Guest vocals appear on the track “Soul Void” from Chase H. Mason (Gatecreeper), while the title track features contributions from Mellow Grave. The album’s artwork, created by Daniel Hassell, presents a stark contrast to its subject matter: a bright, airbrushed aesthetic that visualises a warlike psychological landscape, as if seen through the fractured perspective of a mind under extreme duress.

The release also marks a continuation for Jazz Club Records, carried forward in honour of its late founder, Jarred Bowman. His influence remains a guiding presence behind the label’s ongoing work, and this release stands as part of that legacy.

With Through Arterial Mist, Soul Void deliver a debut that is both a progression and a statement of intent: Precise in execution, unflinching in theme, and grounded in a sound that continues to evolve.

Through Arterial Mist is available May 29th on all major platforms.
